Thinker Ali Mohamed Elshorafa Elhammadi writes.. My historical testimony about the role of Sheikh Zayed in the victory of October 1973

Faith destroys Bar Lev Line:
Egyptian people swore to protect the country, and they will fear only Allah and won’t worship the idol. They gave their souls and blood, and the martyrs died for the sake of the nation, to eradicate all corruption from their lands. They taught the generations the meaning of facing the hardships. Men went forward from the barracks and the trenches, and behind them, a nation that does not fear strife. They destroyed all the barriers and breached the Bar Lev line. Their weapon was faith; they destroyed their citadels, and by bombs and rockets their strongholds were demolished.
The slogan of victory shook the enemies:
The enemies hear the call that shook the field,” Allah is the greatest.” Above every tyrant who acts arrogantly, Allah is the Greatest; Above every devilish soul that leads to oppression, Allah will destroy them, taking vengeance for the injustices, they have committed, for violating the land of the peaceful, and for plundering the wealth of its rightful owners without a fight.
“He called upon the leader of the people and said, ‘Stand up to restore our lands—the land of the prophets.'” We will not sue for peace until we restore all our rights; we will continue to fight and stand firm, and we will never compromise on what is ours. Our souls redeem our land, and our blood waters the soil without price.
Defiant Egypt will bring down the enemies:

Egypt will remain defiant over time and despite the hardships and strife. It will tread on each person who betrayed it and sold his conscience for the sake of the enemies of life and who was stabbed by his poisonous dagger.
O you people, you shall fall, be defeated, and drown.
Your destiny will be hell; hell is an evil resting place. Egypt will raise the flag of dignity, glory, and pride; its trees will flourish green, while your leaves shall fall in autumn, scattered by the wind into the sea.”

People and Army: “A sign and spark”
On October 6th, 1973, an epic was forged by the people of Egypt; its army, security forces, and leadership sought victory and answered the call of destiny. October remains a symbol and a spark, a time when people invoked the determination, bravery, and sacrifice of their ancestors—those who built a civilization whose light illuminated the dawn of human conscience with justice and dignity, adding knowledge and respect to humanity. History still remembers this undying glory, immortalizing its triumphs to serve as a source of pride and honor for generations to come.

Sheikh Zayed and El-Sadat

I remember when the hero Anwar El-Sadat, may Allah rest his soul, the starter of the October War, met with El-Sheikh Zayed—may Allah rest his soul. I was present at that meeting shortly after the October War. Sheikh Zayed said: “We were not fighting only Israel, but in fact we were fighting America with its military capabilities. We saw how the C-130 aircraft carried the tanks and delivered them to the Israeli army, which was equipped with developed weapons and went directly to the battlefield. In addition, America equipped Israel with important information about the sites of the Egyptian army from satellites.”

My historical testimony:

Here I am, writing my historical testimony, having served as the Director of the Presidential Diwan during the era of Sheikh Zayed—may Allah rest his soul. I witnessed the scene with absolute clarity: he was a uniquely enthusiastic Arab leader, driven by devotion and readiness to take any stance, no matter its severity, in support of the Egyptian people and their leadership, deeply believing in the unity of our shared Arabic destiny.

Sheik Zayed and cutting off oil

Therefore, he was an initiative as the first Arab president who made a bold and brave step by announcing the cutting off of oil from America and the Western countries; this had a great effect in putting pressure on the superpowers by adopting Decree No. (242) in the Security Council, which stopped the war and resulted in the withdrawal of Israel to the pre-1967 borders.

Supporting Egypt is a national duty

Before that, Sheikh Zayed took a loan from the British Midland Bank amounting to over 25 million pounds sterling to support the Egyptian Air Force during the October war. President Hosni Mubarak – may Allah rest his soul- testified that during my meeting with him in his home in Heliopolis after the death of President Anwar Elsadat – may Allah rest his soul- I conveyed the condolences of Sheikh Zayed.

Mubarak and Sheikh Zayed

At that time, he said: I do not know how to transfer the feelings of appreciation and thanks to Sheikh Zayed, as his financial support came at a time when we were at the utmost need to buy some spare parts for the warplanes, as he was at that time the commander of the air forces during the October War.

Sheik Zayed.. Stances stemmed from devotion

The stances of Sheikh Zayed stemmed from devotion and faithfulness to the unity of the Arab destiny. He was the only Arab leader who was distinguished in his stances, realizing the importance of the Arab Republic of Egypt and its historical role in facing any aggression on the Arab nation; he considered it and its forces and its people a national legacy for Arab national security.

The UAE will remain steadfast in its commitment

The UAE will remain—just as Sheikh Zayed founded it and under the guidance of all its leaders, his sons, may Allah protect them—loyal to the principles he rooted in the hearts of his people.

May Allah Protect Egypt

I pray that Allah protects Egypt and guides its leaders who achieved victory, and grants his excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi victory and success against the enemies of Egypt, both at home and abroad. He will be triumphant, god willing, over the powers of oppression and aggression, and will demolish the fragments of the terrorists and those who stand behind them, the traitors, agents, and minions of Satan.
